Advantages: Instantly feel refreshed, doesn't leave skin feeling greasy.

Disadvantages: None

When this product first came out I really wanted to try it. I had first read about it in a magazine and later advised by a member of staff from the Clinique counter at an airport to buy it, as I had really dry skin after coming back from holiday. It is £30 a tub (a little cheaper at duty-free) but I thought this was far too expensive for a moisturiser. Another reason why I did not want to buy this is because I had ended up with very dry and sore red skin on my face after using a different Clinique moisturiser before and I was scared that the same might happen again with this one.

However, I luckily received a mini 15ml pot of Clinique's moisture surge extra thirsty skin relief in a free gift that I got from Clinique for buying three of their products. This way I could try the moisturiser out and not have to worry about wasting my money if my skin had a reaction to it, as it was free!

Clinique state: "Enjoy rapid refreshment and a full 24 hours of soothing moisture with an addictive waterfall feel. Advanced hydration boosters and a new botanical blend hold skin's moisture in balance through stressful shifts in humidity, indoors and out."

Now I actually felt that 'an addictive waterfall feel' was a bit of an over exaggeration when reading this for the first time, but I can honestly say that after applying it, it feels lovely on the skin. Not exactly like a waterfall, but it is addictive! I usually hate applying moisturisers etc on my face all of the time and have to make myself do it, but I actually enjoy applying this and do so a few times a day because I love the feel of it on my skin.

It does not feel like the usual moisturisers that I am used to using, it is more of a gel than a cream. At first it felt greasy and I was worried it was going to leave my skin feeling like that for ages, but it didn't and it absorbed on my skin quickly and feels very light. Clinique state to apply throughout the day as needed, and even over make-up. I would never apply moisturiser over my make-up before, but I can with this one, which is why I apply it so often during the day. It doesn't mess my make-up or wipe it away and it just leaves my skin feeling so smooth and refreshed and not the slightest bit dry.

My own personal tip would be to use this the morning after a night out. I love to use this when I wake up with a hangover! Even if I did remove all of my make-up before going to bed I will often wake up and my skin will feel dry and in need of a 'drink'. When applying this I instantly feel refreshed and like my skin wasn't abused with all the make-up I had put on it the night before!

A 50ml tub of this costs £30 which I now wouldn't mind paying. I have almost ran out of my little 15ml tub and so will be treating myself to this soon. I am also now very keen to try out the other products in Clinique's moisture surge range such as their eye cream and face spray.

I give this product 5 stars because I cannot fault it. It may seem a bit pricey but I think it is worth it and 50ml will last quite some time, unless like me you get addicted to applying it and end up doing so several times a day!

Summary: Even if you don't have dry skin I would recommend as it leaves your skin feeling smooth & refreshed.
