Advantages: Works, doesn't irritate
Disadvantages: Expensive
I consider myself to have annoying skin; it's dry in places, prone to spots in others, and can be oily in other places. I also have an uneven skin tone. So, finding face creams is usually a difficult task for me, as I want to moisturise the dry parts, but don't want to over-moisturise the oily parts, and don't want to use a cream that causes spots.
I bought this cream after seeing it advertised in a magazine; I have previously used two other 'expensive' Clinique creams, and have been impressed with them. So when I heard about this new cream, I just had to try it.
I bought the cream from Boots for a price of £30 which I do think is very expensive and I hate spending that kind of money on creams, however I was aware that the product would work and I considered it to be a product I 'needed' rather than just 'wanted'.
The aim of the product is to provide moisture to dry skin - not just like any 'dry skin' product though - this cream provides loads of moisture!
The cream is easy to use. Make sure you have a clean finger and face and apply a 5p sized amount of cream to your face and massage. You can put it on before or after (on top of your make-up) and it doesn't ruin your make-up. Although I always put it on after a bath or before bed. You can also use it as a 5 minute mask - put a little bit more on than normal and leave for 5 minutes - then dab away excess cream with a tissue.
I have quite sensitive skin - the kind which goes red and burns if it disagrees with a product or gives me spots. Yet this cream doesn't irritate my skin at all. In fact it leaves my skin lovely and soft, smooth and fresh looking and feeling.
I like how 'light' and 'comfortable' this cream is to 'wear'. I also love how quick it moisturises my skin - instantly and my skin looks great as soon as I put it on. The cream is absorbed very quickly meaning that you aren't left with a 'greasy face'. I sometimes get 'flaky skin' especially around my nose, and as soon as I put this on, it seems to 'melt into the flakes' and they are no longer visible and my skin is left feeling really smooth. That's another thing I love about this cream; it leaves your skin feeling really soft and smooth. My skin doesn't feel greasy or sticky afterwards.
I always feel confident after putting on this cream - so much that I feel I could leave the house without make-up - something I hardly ever do.
As for value for money I think that this product is great. Before, I would never have imagined spending such a ridiculous amount of money on a cream and would have considered it to be a waste of money. Although, having experienced first hand how great this product is and how well it works, I am very pleased with my purchase. The last Clinique pot ( a different product) I bought, was the same size as this pot, and I apply the same amount with this one as the last one; the last pot lasted me six months and so this pot should also last me six months. So when you think about it, £32 for six months (which works out at about £5 per month) is actually quite good value for money!
I like the packaging. The cream comes in an expensive looking little pot and is a pinky-brown colour with a 'silver metal lid'. I like the top of the lid as it has a 'kind of mirror' on the top. I don't know if it suppose to be a mirror, but I can see myself in the lid and so I use it to watch where I am putting the cream.
If you have a dry skin, then I would definitely recommend this cream.
Thanks for reading!
