Advantages: cleans all that eyeliner and mascara in about 3 wipes
Disadvantages: slightly expensive - but well worth it
I use a liquid eyeliner and mascara everyday, so I need a decent eye make-up remover. Well, I certainly don’t want to wake up looking like a bamboo eating teddy bear! I’ve tried most tricks in the book, from using soap and water all the way through to leaving it all on over-night and building up the layers – euurrrgghh! Most of the actual cleaners I’ve used have either been too greasy and they seemed to smear my eye make-up rather than remove it, or, I need to rub really quite hard. Not something us ‘young’ ladies should do (if we want to keep the crows feet and lines away). This is where ‘Clinique Rinse-Off Eye Makeup Solvent’ is different; it’s quick and easy to use. I use a cotton wool pad, tip the bottle quickly and gently wipe from the corner of my eye outwards, there’s no need to scrub either, just wipe 2 or 3 times more, rinse off with lukewarm water and voila – no more poppy the panda! I find it very gentle and if I do get it into my eyes it hardly stings at all, but be careful if you have very sensitive eyes, I would suggest that you speak to the ‘Clinique lady’ (she’s not that scary – honest) and she should be able to suggest something else in their range. It’s fragrance free and they say it’s been ophthalmologist tested – we have to believe them on this one – don’t we? I first tried this product as a tester at one of their ‘bonus times’ but now I buy the full bottle, and at 13.50 it’s quite expensive just to take your face off at the end of the day, but hey – treat yourself, you deserve it. I found the tester size is just right for taking on holiday or for weekends, but the 4.2fl oz. Bottle will last about 7 or 8 months, if you’re running out, add a little water to the bottle, just a little tip of mine which works!

- 12/03/01 I think there are lots of bamboo eating teddy bears around but since I started wearing contact lenses I am really paranoid about what I use near my eyes. Might have a look and speak to the Clinique Lady soon. |

- 12/03/01 When I found that this was the only brand I coluld handle on my eyes due to sensitivity, it was thier prices that actually stopped me wearing any make-up at all
and some times I miss the gunge caper,
even with my habbit (way back now) of 'forgetting' to take it off at night. (Yuk)
Maybe if
1. this stuff had been around and
2. I had had more cash 'way back', then I would still be a make-up slave ... but hey, I like my face make up free ... sometimes ;-7
