Advantages: Excellent quantity of buffing beads

Disadvantages: Not great on the troublesome dry areas

I do enjoy my shower ritual and I'm always looking for ways to add to it. I've always exfoliated and tried all sorts of body scrubs, but the main problem I've had with them is that the concentration of scrubbing particles has usually been to sparce, so the result being that as soon as you've rubbed it on it gets washed off pretty quickly in the shower. So I was looking for something that was thicker and more paste like in that respect. I'd used a clinique facial scrub which was the exact consistency of the sort of scrub I wanted for the rest of my body. Obviously it wouldn't have been cost effective at all to use the facial scrub all over my body, so I headed to the Clinique counter to see what was available.

The scrub comes in either a squeezy tube or a tub. I chose the tube as I find that anything in a tub I get through a lot quicker as I pull out too much with my hands. Plus, in the shower a lot of water gets into the tub which can often change the consistency of the product.

The scrub itself is a great consistency and has a good over all liquid to scrub bead ratio. It's a pale, jade green in colour. It's effective at buffing skin generally, although isn't amazing on dry patches like knees and elbows. Maybe I'm asking too much, but I want silky smooth skin from top to toe after spending the money and time on something that I would hope would achieve that. Whilst my dry patches were certainly improved, they were still there and very much visable.

I'd say that this scrub is good for general buffing, and certainly makes non problem areas (the ones that aren't overly dry) more smooth and silky, but it isn't greatly effective on the problem areas. I do like it very much though and use it after shaving my legs to get them feeling really smooth. I definitely don't have sparkley skin afterwards though!

Summary: Great all round buffing scrub

I agree with this review - if you're going to use a body scrub, you want to come out of the shower smooth all over, not just smooth everywhere except your knees and elbows.

A very good review! All that's missing is the price :)
