Advantages: stays on for a long time and colour matches really well

Disadvantages: its expensive

After trying a few different foundations but always finding they rubbed off my skin too easily I thought I would try a more expensive brand hoping they would be better quality. I brought this foundation from Debenhams it cost around £20, although it is expensive it does stay on my skin longer than other foundations I have tried in the past. With Clinique you can have a consultation and they will advise you what colour you should get and also the type of foundation you should use for your skin type. This may not be the foundation for you but as they have a wide range of types then there will be one suitable.

The colour I have is alabaster I have quite fair skin and usually Ivory is too pale and the next colour up is a little bit orangey but this is perfect. There are a huge range of colours so everyone should be able to find their shade.

I find this is best applied using a foundation brush as it is quite runny and I have also noticed I tend to use less when I do use a brush so when its £20 a bottle it comes in very handy! Its really easy to blend in and doesn't leave a line between your bare skin and where you have applied the foundation.

The coverage is classed as moderate. It is good for covering redness in your cheeks and gives a consistent finish over your skin. It is not the best foundation for covering spots and they do still show through so you will need a good concealer as well as this foundation. The finish is very fresh looking and it isn't shiny. I used loose powder over the top of mine you do need to use a powder or it would rub off quite easily.

It is quite a long lasting foundation, usually I find my foundation fading away through the day especially around my forehead and nose this foundation is designed for combination skin and so it stays on in the more greasy areas of skin like these. I do find that you have to be careful not to rub your skin as it will rub off when you do. However if you keep your hands off your skin it will stay on all day or all night if you wear it for going out.

I have found that this foundation is better for my skin than previous thicker foundations I have used and I don't get as many spots with it. I have had no irritation with this foundation so I would recommend it to people with sensitive skin as mine is and I have been ok.

Lastly it comes in a cute flowery box so it looks very cute on your dressing table. The bottle design looks like it may be a bit annoying when it comes to the end as it looks awkward to get the last bits out.

All in all it is expensive but it looks good and has lasted longer than my previous foundations so I don't mind paying more for a foundation you can rely on.

Summary: worth the price

Alabaster as well. Though hoping this summer I might try enough fake tan to find that too pale!
