Advantages: It's glam and keeps your lips feeling soft.
Disadvantages: It could do with a more user friendly applicator
This little purse sized product was another one of my freebies after being sucked right in by the pouting, painted 'Gift Time at Clinique' ladies in a well known department store! But...I love it!

My particular tube is sweetly named 'Raspberry'. I've had it for a little while and the 7mls has lasted me for a good while. This isn't purely down to the reason that just a little goes a long way- although this is indeed one of the beauties of this product; it's more due to the fact that I've spent more than a year losing and re-finding it. The last occasion that saw me fishing around for this little tube was at the weekend. I wanted to write a review on it, but having not used it during the winter months, I had to go on a mission to find it so that I could remind myself of its qualities. After rummaging through multiple handbags, make up bags and drawers, I found it in a seldom used nappy changing bag, sharing a side pocket with some tissues and half a box of raisins.

A little goes a long way in the world of Superbalm. You need to squeeze the tube quite hard to get the balm out as it's quite thick. There's no particular funky applicator to ensure ease of use- it's just a hole in the end of the tube and it's up to you to smear it over your lips evenly- which is difficult to do without using your finger or throwing some odd lip shapes around until it looks right. But once the stuff is on- it looks lovely! It's very glossy, giving your lips a 'wet' look. Just a hint of colour ensures a subtle, natural look is modelled. There isn't much stickiness to speak of and it feels quite smooth. What impresses me about Superbalm is that it's the most attractive lip treatment that I've ever used! Generally, your standard lip balms give your lips more of a matt look, so it's a treat to look glam whilst giving your smile a well deserved pampering. As a balm, Superbalm is pretty good. It keeps your lips soft and after three days of wearing this, I have no dryness or flaking at all and I'm more than happy with the results.

You may be wondering, if the Superbalm is such a good friend of mine, why it was hidden in a bag for such a period. The answer is simple- winter months and any kind of lipgloss product simply do not mix. Think long hair, a windy day- slithers of pink gloss dragged along your cheeks, coupled with gloopy clumps of hair. It's not a good look, and highly annoying. So my preference is to stick with a touch a matt lipstick or Vaseline until calmer climes.
Given its two main qualities of moisturising and glamourising, I'd be more than happy to wear this on any occasion, be it a night out on the tiles or a trip to the cornershop (especially if you fancy the shop keeper). Probably wouldn't wear it for bed though, unless you want to stick to the pillow!
All in all, it's quite expensive at around ten pounds for 7ml, but it's long lasting and adds a touch of luxury to the lip maintenance task!
Summary: Well worth treating yourself!
