Advantages: None!
Disadvantages: Greasy, not very effective.
Introduction:
I regularly buy Clinique products. I know they are costly, but I do feel like the more money I put into my skin care regime, the better my skin will be. I bought this for the first time two months ago. I went into the Clinique counter and needed a new make up remover and general face cleanser. I decided to ask the lady behind the beauty counter for her advice, being the beauty expert after all. She recommended this cleansing balm. I bought it, with another product, as they were doing their regular offers of buy two products (one to be skincare) and get a whole host of travel size goodies for free (and I just love trialling the products I haven't tried yet).
Price and availability:
Every Clinique counter I have seen, stock this product. Clinique counters can be found in large department stores, like John Lewis, House of Fraser, etc as well as stores like Boots. I have always found the sale assistants really helpful. This product is priced around £22.50, which in my opinion is quite a lot of money, so I expect a lot for that. I am never normally disappointed by Clinique products, so I had high hopes.
Actual product:
The packaging is quite heavy, so makes the product feel quite substantial. The pot is short and round, and clear purple plastic. The lid is a screw on and off lid. It is easy to take off and on again, and secure once done up tight. The product is a thick solid constancy. It reminds me of hair wax. You rub a little bit onto cotton wool and then rub it onto your face to remove make up, and as the name might suggest, the day off, so all general dirt and life build up! The product smooths on easily, but it takes quite a lot of applications to get the make up off as it does not absorb much each time, certainly less than traditional creamier more liquid types of make up remover. I also find this product quite difficult to remove, it leaves my skin so greasy, which is horrible. In fact my chin has got considerably more spots since I started using this product.
Conclusion:
I really didn't like this product, I found it hard to use, you had to use lots of remove your make up, making it quite poor value for money. It left my skin greasy and feeling horrible. I only pushed through and finished the pot because it cost so much money I felt like I had to, but I was so relieved when I finished. In my opinion this is definitely not worth the money it cost and I will not be buying it again. I am rarely disappointed with Clinique products, but sadly, this time I was.
