Advantages: Removes heavy makeup VERY easily, doesn't rub in the makeup-it picks it up well.

Disadvantages: very oily and greasy, leaves a bit of an oily residue

I received a Clinque gift set for Christmas off my usually clueless Grandad so was very pleased! So I've been using the Clinique TTDO Make Up Remover since, for my normal, everyday makeup looks and full-on night time looks.

The point of remover is of course to remove your makeup, but it has to be done in a soft, no-effort needed way, so you do not need to rub your skin. The eye area is so delicate and can take a lot of battering! I find lip colours often wear off by the end anyway, so have only ever used it on my eyes.

I have divided my points into positive and negative...

:( First like every remover, you must get some cotton wool balls or pads to apply the product to. I find it handier when I have makeup remover pads as it is quicker and cheaper, but that's a very picky point! It is worth a mention because one sweep of a ball or pad and it had turned black from mascara and eyeliner, so you must use another side or a totally new pad, which is more time consuming and expensive as you have to keep buying cotton wool. Also worse for the environment. Until there is a washable cloth this soft, I guess you cannot resolve this problem! Do any of you know of a cloth like this?

:) The product does a great job of removing makeup. In one sweep it clears it all off and you certainly don't need much product. The product is very oily and quite a thin, loose liquid so it spreads across an area easily and you get good coverage. As I mentioned above, the product is not rubbed into the skin, it is lifted off onto the cotton wool. Great!

:( But this is VERY oily, some may not like it. I'm not so keen on the effect it leaves. This can also double as a good point like above, but the liquid does travel, so your whole eye ends up very greasy and oily. I am hestitant to wipe off this oil as you are doing further damage to your delicate eyes, boo! After a while it sinks in, but at first you are left with a greasy feeling that's really not very nice! It's quite gunky. But then again, this may be moisturing!

So overall this product works great. It has to be oily so you do not need force to remove the makeup, but it is VERY oily. There is no smell though and the product is in a little, purple tinted bottle, which look good on your dressing table or night-stand.

I would recommend it as a makeup remover for those occassions where you are inclined to wear lots of makeup, or if you are very careful about having perfectly, 100% make-up free skin every night. Buy a trial size or ask for a sample!

Summary: Takes off your makeup gently without rubbing it in, but can feel greasy and oily afterwards.
