Advantages: Good bronzer

Disadvantages: Not suitable for the very pale

I was sucked into buying this true bronze pressed powder bronzer - what a mouthful - by the sales girl at the Clinique counter who said it was their most popular product in terms of sales for that week. She even showed me the paperwork to prove it. So convinced of its utter brilliance I bought it. I bought it in the lightest shade she had at the time, 02 Sunkissed because I am very fair skinned.

It comes in a little simple compact with a bronze lid with simply the word Clinique on the top. In the lid there is an excellent mirror. I often use the compact purely for the mirror in fact. There is no applicator sponge or anything that comes with the product so you have to buy some sort of brush or sponge to apply it with. This makes it a more expensive purchase overall.

It is used very much like a blush to add a glow to the cheeks. Some people also use it on the nose and forehead which supposedly are the places where the sun hits naturally. It is quite well pigmented and soft to use. There is also a little shimmer in this to give it an extra glow. When I apply it to my skin though it just looks wrong as there is too large a difference between the colour of the bronzer and the natural colour of my skin. Though it would look nice on someone with more colour in their skin, on me it was a bad choice.

The lesson I have learnt from this is that not everyone suits bronzer. I know I am better suited to blusher which gives a rosey look rather than trying to achieve a sunkissed look on ultra pale skin which just screams fake. If you want to get one of these then they sell them at Clinique counters in places like Debenhams for about £17. On the plus side I think one of these compacts would last a fairly long time.

Summary: A good buy but not for me personally
