Clinique is one of my favourite make-up brands but I have not really tried many of their moisturising products before I came across this one, the Clinique Youth Surge Day SPF15 moisturiser. I tend to use whatever moisturisers I get for Christmas if I am honest but have recently started to really try and look after my skin. I do not feel like I really need an anti-ageing moisturiser right now but the 'age decelerating' label on this really intrigued me.

The product comes in a small circular tub with screw on lid to keep the inside contents safe (which you definitely want with a product this price!). The top is a metallic silver shade and the bottom of the tub is a frosted white colour and is made of a very sturdy glass.

The product comes in four different skin varieties;

Dry Combination Skin Types 30ml
Very Dry to Dry Skin Types 50ml
Dry Combination Skin Types 50ml
Combination Oily Skin Types 50ml

The key selling point of this moisturiser is that it is intended to reduce the appearance of ageing and slow down any signs of it such as wrinkles and fine lines. It is inspired by Sirtuin technology, which are a group of proteins which basically regulate biological pathways in bacterias, archaea and eukaryotes. Sirtuins have also been linked to stress resistance and energy efficiency.

As well as this the moisturiser contains SPF15, which Clinique have started to include in a lot of their skin care products. This along with the Sirtuin technology helps to protect the face from harmful environmental elements we all incur in everyday life.

This for starters is a great choice of skin types available, for myself, I went for the combination oily skin type product, this is a 50ml tub of skin cream. The moisturiser is a bright white cream with a very glossy or almost oily appearance. It is a reasonably thick consistency but very pliable and easy to apply. To apply you simply take a small amount of the cream onto your fingertip, about a broad bean size amount and rub into your face. The cream is very easily absorbed into my skin and immediately feels like it having a firming effect on my face, which is quite impressive! It dries very quickly and so I find it best to use in the morning after showing and just before applying my make-up.

After over a month of using this cream I am pretty impressed with the feel and condition of my skin, it not only feels moisturised but particularly firm and conditioned. I tend to use this every couple of days rather than everyday, with my cheaper 'normal' moisturisers filling in the gaps, not only due to the price tag but I do think it is slightly unnecessary to use it every day as a stand alone product.

I would recommend this to anyone who is slightly worried about ageing or for someone who wants a really well made product that gives good results. As mentioned I do not think it would be necessary to use this everyday but that is my own opinion, a few applications a week I find sufficient myself.

The price is £39 for a 50ml tub, which I find quite shocking, but I intend to make it last and so far it is going a long way so taking that into account I shouldn't be buying more than two or three a year.
