Advantages: Central, cheapest of of bigger clubs
Disadvantages: Not that impressive
LOCATION
We were staying in San Antonio at the time and what I liked most about Eden was that we didn't have to get a Disco Bus to get there, it was easily walking distance from most of the hotels and cheaper bars there.
LINE UP
In terms of line-ups, Eden does get some of the best names, the night we visited Pendulum, Kissy Sell Out and Chase & Status were on the bill. Although Kissy Sell Out cancelled last minute, Eden were able to fill his slot with Sinden, again a big name who played a brilliant set so not much harm done.
PRICES
Prices for drinks and entry were cheaper than some of the other major Ibiza clubs but still on the elevated side if you're comparing to an average night out at home. Entry was between 30-40 euros with advance tickets, with alcohol drinks averaging about 8 euros.
What does make Eden stands out though is that it has it's own pre-drinking bar next to the entrance with very good drinks offers. We arrived well early as we thought we might be queueing a while but ended up having time to spare so made use of the 2 drinks and 2 shots for 10 euros deal they had on. This could also be very useful if you're not sure where's good to pre-drink in the area or your ticket stipulates you have to be in by a certain time and you want a cheeky (non-overpriced) drink before you get in.
STAFF
We had mixed experiences with many of the staff at Eden, and I hate to generalize but mostly we found the British staff were lovely and friendly (although sometimes a bit useless), and the Spanish a bit rude and abrupt. On the door the British hostesses were lovely but didn't seem to know anything about the set times or room lists. Inside the (British) girls at the balloon stand were also very friendly and helpful. The Spanish bar staff however were very impolite. My friend hurt her foot and the barman wouldn't even give her some ice for the pain without a tip!
COMPARISON
As we had been to Priveledge the night before, Eden was a bit of a letdown in comparison. In Priviledge there were outdoor bits, chillout areas, food stands, wandering laughing gas girls and even though entry and drinks were expensive it was a complete club experience.
In Eden for the same sort of entry all you get in 3 covered rooms, no chillout area, no food, 1 tiny balloon stand that closes early and generally the experience I could have gotten on an average Saturday night at home.
That and the rude staff just ruined it for me, I think I'll just stick to my local from now on!
Summary: Would have had a better night in a tiny little club somewhere else!

- 12/07/09 I generally used to find that with the staff in the clubs in Ibiza - I think they get sick of the Brits to be honest. |
