Advantages: Always people around, a cheap and different night out

Disadvantages: Not much going on when there's no concert or film

Elba Sklot is the last of my Warsaw nightlife write-ups for the day. Elba Sklot is a squat in Warsaw that holds concerts, has a free shop (you can leave and take whatever you want there), a bike point where they offer free lessons on how to repair a bike, a skatepark and a breakdance school.

There are numerous cinema nights and concerts at the squat, mostly hardcore, punk or psychobilly bands (e.g. the Finnish psychobilly band Hasta La Vista Social Club or the French alternative band Kazan will be playing in the next few days), for concerts beer is normally sold for around 3zl (75p) and entrance is usually around 5zl or 10zl (1.25/2.50), the place is slowly becoming a very good and affordable place to watch decent live concerts of bands from throughout Poland and the rest of Europe.

They've definitely put a lot of work into the place and the crowd is pretty welcoming. It is not bang in the centre of the city but rather in the north western part of the city - Zoliborz which can easily be reached by public transport.

Getting There:

From the center: Trams: 22,29, 16, 19, 33 and 35 to the stop called Elblaska, then walk along the street until you get to Elba Sklot (the building before the petrol station), this is quite a green area behind the Institute of Medicine.
