Advantages: Liberal, lots to choose from, reasonably priced for a capital city.

Disadvantages: Some clubs are in the middle of nowhere

I am a student living in Berlin at the moment as part of my year abroad and I guarantee that every saturday night my friends and I will be partying in the capital!
I have lived here since October 2007 so I have had plenty of time to experience what Berlin nightlife has to offer and I can totally see why it is one of the most vibrant and liberal cities in the world!
There are clubs for everyone's music taste and electro/techno is massive over here in Germany! One of the best places for electro/drum and base music in my opinion, is a club called Watergate:

Watergate Club
Falckensteinstr.49
10997 Berlin X-berg

Fax: +49(0)3061280396

It overlooks the River Spree and it's quite cosmopolitan inside with a lounge affect and 2 floors. It really is a great venue and if you're an electro fan then this is the place to go! I think it is about 10-12 euros to get in but it depends on what time you go. Queues get long so leave in good time if you want to get in! There is another electro club which is called Maria am Ostbahnhof...I haven't been myself but I stood in the queue and was told it was 20 euros to get in so I went somewhere else! But it may be good, who knows!

If you're more of an alternative kind of person then I think Knaack Club is one of the best places!

Greifswalder Str. 224
10405 Berlin, Germany
+49 30 4427061

It has different rooms which include and Indie room, a rock/metal room, an RnB room and yes, a karaoke floor haha! There is something for everyone I think and we had an awesome night when we went, so I would definitely check it out. Another club which is good if you're into your rock and indie music is Magnet Club:

Greifswalder Str. 212
10405 Berlin, Germany
+49 30 44008140

This has a few rooms also, but the venue isn't that great and there are limited sitting areas if you want to just sit and relax with a drink.

If you want a varied night of music then I would highly recommend Club Felix which is near the Jewish memorial on the Unter den Linden S-Bahn stop. It is very classy inside so I would recommend that you dress smartly as when I have been, the men have been in suits. The drinks are quite expensive so I usually drink beforehand but the music is great and there is something for everyone. I have found that this club attracts a lot of tourists.

Other clubs to visit in Berlin:

Dante Club in Hackescher Markt- again this has all types of music and is owned by Pierce Brosnan. It is well worth visiting.

Club AM/PM in Hackescher Markt- this is right next door to Dante's and as in the name, this place is open 24/7 and is one of my favourite places to go in Berlin! They play every type of music going but it is quite small and it does attract a lot of people! I would definitely say go there though as it is a fun night out!

Hope this helps if you ever want to visit Berlin! :)

Summary: Anything goes in Germany's capital!
