Nightclubs in San Francisco in general

Some of the best music and club hopping is in the SoMa district (South of Market St.), an erstwhile industrial area now packed with bars and nightclubs — and an ever-growing number of silicon-rich baby boomers and gen-Xers caught in the middle of a controversy over which should get top priority: the neighborhood's thriving entertainment scene or the rights of new SoMa tenants (some call them yuppies) in their recently refurbished live-work lofts.
