Advantages: Amazing Atmosphere. Brilliant Club Design. Like nothing in the UK
Disadvantages: Expensive Admission Fee and Drinks are Costly
Oh my god - Pacha is just amazing. I remember dreading another night clubbing as I had been out the previous 4 nights in a row and was getting a bit tired and feeling quite icky after all the drinks, the hot weather and the lack of sleep. But then I walked in to the club in Ibiza and just thought "wow!". There are no words to describe either the design of the club or the atmosphere. The people that go to clubs such as Pacha are really in to their clubbing and dance music and I can't say I am one of those people. Don't get me wrong, I love nothing more than a night out with the girls and a drink, but these people are "true" clubber's.
I remember being amazed because one of the guest's that were meant to be attending the club that night as a V.I.P. was Kylie Minogue and the length of V.I.P. seats was literally 5 steps away from me - wow! Although, I didn't see her in the end if she did turn up! Knowing that stars as big as Kylie are at Pacha is brilliant. I also remember going round the Club and noticing that were were 5 different kinds of music going on, with a guy beat boxing in one of the rooms. So there is something to suit everyones tastes. There is also a sun terrace for those that would rather chill outside and there are plenty of bars dotted around. You will also notice that there are entertainers walking around on stilts, pretty girls dancing on podiums, lasers beaming everywhere and there is even a hidden door to get from one room to another!
One thing I noticed is that it is expensive to get in the club, costing about 40 Euros each which is about £30.00. A lot of people will find that far too expensive but for one night where you may never go again, I think it is an experience worth while. I also remember two Vodka & Oranges costing roughly 28 Euros which to me is expensive for two drinks! Especially when you spill yours - oops.
I think if I was over in Ibiza again, I would go back to Pacha again as it was a good night out, something different and nothing like you get over here in the UK.
About the Pacha
Pacha first opened in 1973 as an experiment and is even popular today. Pacha first began with "The Global Room" which played R & B and Hip-Hop being the main function room where international DJs play. Other rooms include the Funky Room where house, soulful and funky music is played, The Roof Terrace where chill-out music is played and cocktails are served, The Pacha Room where people from Ibiza tend to hang out listening to Latin music and also the Restaurant where there is sushi bar and dinners being served. The restaurant looked really nice and was all lit up and looked quite romantic but as it is a noisy place, I don't think it is somewhere you could go on a date too!
Every night there is a theme or certain DJ playing so it is recommended you find out who is playing that night so that you go to a night you are more likely to enjoy. During the summer months you are likely to attend when the bigger, international DJs are playing as this is the clubbing season.
There are other Pacha clubs around the world which have the same idea as the one in Ibiza. I have never been to them but from what I've seen on the internet etc, they don't look as though they quite live up to the expectations of Ibiza! As well as the club franchise, there are also lots of Pacha shops around the Island of Ibiza where you can purchase items from keyrings to hooded tops with the Pacha symbol, cherries.
Summary: Somewhere you wouldn't attend everyday

- 19/01/08 Pampered clubbers a proper dance rave is in a muddy field in Romford, dodging the police and getting a call from a dodgy geezer called Wiz tellig you the location, no VIP there mind you it was a few years back says he showing his age. |

- 18/01/08 Might have been me you saw dancing there as I did a season working there couple of years ago, it was a tough gig but loads of fun. |

- 18/01/08 I would be quite wary about a club saying they had VIPs in attendance and then you not actually seeing them - if indeed you had to pay extra for this privilege... I was at a club over 10 years ago in London and they were charging something like £25 instead of their normal £7 entrance fee because the boxer Prince Naseem was going to be there. Now we couldn't be bothered to pay the £25 so we just stayed in the pub next door till 1am, when we were leaving the pub we saw him outside the club, which is more than the people inside the club who'd paid the 25 quid had seen LOL! I don't even like him so I wasn't impressed to have seen him even by accident! I wouldn't mind seeing Kylie Minogue though, she's adorable! x |
