Advantages: Beautiful building, nice beer garden and apparently good cuisine

Disadvantages: Chav central, crap music

A few weeks go on the way back from the Khamoro Festival in Praha, my girlfriend and I hitchhiked up to Wroclaw, intending to go all the way up to Warsaw initially but realising it was a safer bet timewise to take the night train there because I had to work the next day early in the morning. This left us several hours of milling around to do, having already visited the town a few times, I had no desire to go as far as the centre from the train station because I had an unexpected outburst of chaffing and was walking like a cowboy! We decided to eat some food we had previously bought in a nearby park, opposite was Prowakacja club which has a large beer garden, so we decided to go over there and witness what was possibly the worst ever concert. Several hours of seriously moronic chanting style Polish hip hop and later a bit of badly made trance done from the roof of the club.

The bar had about 6 monster sized bouncers on the door and seemed to appeal to possibly the largest collection of chavs (known locally as dresiarz) I have ever seen, this was only outdone by an even larger amount of chavettes (known locally as dresiara) who to be fair to them were better looking than their English counterparts but easily as nauseating if not more so. We decided to stay though as it was generally a bit of a laugh, I quite like good hip hop but this was just awful.

Devoid of music the beer garden would be pretty nice as it is on Partisan hill where you have a good view of a river, the club itself is in Bastion Sakwowy and some local guidebooks have described it as "Wroclaw's no. 1 outdoor drinking venue" and praises their international dishes which to be fair I haven't tried. I can only think that the writer is being threatened with having his legs broken or maybe I got it on completely the wrong day but looking at the line up of nights, dj's and bands. It's House or rnb, to be fair the Bastion is very nice but I have no plans to go back to this pub.

If you decide it's for you though, you must get one of the Tram 9 to Olawska.

Summary: Over 100 better bars in the town in my opinion!

"an unexpected outburst of chaffing and was walking like a cowboy" - I know a bar in Brasov that is much better suited to that!
BTW I would like to take this opportunity to say that Slovenia does not have chavs (by any name)

Even if I ever get to Wroclaw, the Tram 9 will not be taken. Thanks for the warning.
