Gran Canaria:
... first went to Gran Canaria when I was 8 with my Nain and Taid (Welsh for nan and grandad) and have been there 8 times since! Please note that my review is about Puerto Rico in Gran Canaria as this is the main tourist town. Gran Canaria is one of the Canary Islands, located not far off the African Coast to the West, however, it is classed as Spanish. I can honestly say it is the most beautiful place I have ever b... 42nd Street Nightclub (Manchester) ... off Deansgate, hidden down one of the back alleys, is a club that is frequented for two simple reasons: Cheap beer and good music. If you have a distaste for students then it is to be avoided, this also goes for sticky floors, splashback in the male toilets from an ill-conceived urinal, and more students. If you want to get drunk and still come home with change from a tenner, and like to be immersed in seas of over-excited dancers upon the spinning of indie anthems, then it s definitely worth a visit. You can usually pick up bottles of Carlsberg for a quid if you are wanting to keep things on the cheap side. It usually starts to pick up around 10pm, and the queues ca... Reflex Club ... are a number of Reflex nightclubs around the country now & they are 80s themed. Mainly I have been to the one near St Pauls/Cannon Street but have also been to the one in Southend. It is £5 to get in but you can book a party in and get queue jump etc which then works out to £2 each. You have to be there by a certain time tho for this or they won t let you in. If you don t book and plan on queuing then best to get there early as it can get quite busy and I have waited over an hour to get in before! The drink prices are different depending on what night of the week it is and what club it is but they are still quite reasonable. They do some great cocktails and pi... Opus Manchester ... here for the restaurant and comedy package, which at 30 quid a head turned out to be a pretty sweet deal, considering the Comedy Club on Deansgate offered a lesser deal at 47 bones. The restaurant food wouldn t exactly make it onto the Michelin star list, probably languishing somewhere in between Nando s and McDonalds, but it was worth eating. The show itself proved to be the value booster, as you are whisked away after your meal to quite an intimate setting where comedians can get really close up to really take the p*ss out of you. Especially if you re ugly or from Burnley. There are 3 acts in total, at least usually, and each set is about half an hour long. There i...
