I visited Baja Beach Club in Newcastle 2 weeks ago as part of a hen weekend.

It is an excellent night club, but getting in was difficult. We arrived at 10:15 pm and eventually got in at 11.55pm - almost 2 hours later. The queue hardly moved, and 2 hours drinking time was wasted.

When we got in it was well worth the wait - the surroundings are that of a beach hut - lots of wood, parasols, palms, bikini-clad women selling bottled drinks. The music was good because it was different - anything from 1950s onwards. "Party music" describes it well.

What struck me was we had waited almost 2 hours to get in .. and the club did not appear as packed as I had expected. I am sure they could have squeezed a few more in!

I would recommend this night club... but beware the queues, wrap up warm, and remember it shuts at 2am!! Have fun!
