Advantages: cheesy music, busy
Disadvantages: too hot, staff are aloof
I've been at university for three years and now I'm back home, I was keen to go to Baja. I visited the club last Wednesday and through my drunken haze, I think it cost me £3. My first impression was that it was far to hot in there. Do they have air conditioning? Drinks are fairly pricy but they sell Moet for £30 (which is apparently cheap but I can't stand the stuff), and these are Quayside prices. The bar staff look like extras from Hollyoaks and the blokes behind the bar seem fairly charming, if a little aloof, but the cliched barmaids in bikinis were a bit irksome. The toilets are brightly lit and quite clean but are also too hot. Other clubbers seemed to be in their mid-twenties and this is fairly normal for the Quayside, the younger drinkers prefering to stay in the city centre where drinks are cheaper. The music was cheesey, but cheesey is good in my book, and most tastes were catered for. In summary, the club is over-hyped, over heated but fairly standard. Its not the greatest nightspot but by no means the worst, and there are offers for students and VIP prize giveaways to keep customers sweet.
