Bar Cuba on High St Kensington is one of those hidden gems of the salsa world. For some reason (location perhaps?) you don't get all the hottest salsa dancers there, but there are quite a few reasonably good dancers to spin you round the dance floor. The main things about Bar Cuba is the friendly atmosphere. There are quite a lot of regulars but even a newcomer would feel at home and make some new friends soon. The classes are run by Latin Pulse dance tutors and offer a range of levels and styles and the music, especially on Monday and early on Wednesday, with DJ Scorpio, is some of the best salsa in town. This is certainly a place worth checking out.
The dancefloor is all wood, although it could use some repair, there is a good air conditioning system.
