Had a great night at Rumba last weekend for there themed night wild wild west! Got my cowboy hat out along with all the girls and headed down to party! Music was great! The staff were so friendly and fun! They seemed to be enjoying themselves too which is always nice! service with a smile all night! Great prices for the west end! And we enjoyed a complementary bottle of bubbly as it was my friends birthday! :) Would deffinatly recommend!! However i would recommend getting a booth or getting on the guestlist as the queue can get quite big!
Despite its location in the heart of tacky, tourist London, close to Piccadilly Circus, Bar Rumba has - for a good many years now - been one of the most unpretentious and approachable central London bar/clubs. The weekly Tuesday salsa night is a highlight. Ideal for beginners, there are early evening salsa classes before you are let loose on the dancefloor. The vibe is relaxed, the crowd is dressed down, and there are decent cocktails to be had (don't miss happy hour).
Admittedly, it has been a while since I visited Bar Rumba on their Tuesday salsa night, but I do miss it. Tuesday night at Bar Rumba is the night where you can find some of the best salsa dancers in London all in one place. The club is not big and it can get so crowded that dancing is almost impossible, the dance floor is only half wood, with the other half a stone floor that can be quite difficult to dance on, especially if it gets wet, which it inevitably does. Still, there is an atmosphere about the place that makes it worth paying £3 for an enjoyable night out. The music is generally good, although they do play a bit too much merengue for my taste. The club can get a bit too rough and a bit too much of a pick up place, but it is still safe for a woman to go there alone and no eyebrows will be lifted.
I have been to BarRhumBar a couple of times. Its just off Picadilly Circus. Its a great night out in fact if there are a few of you going. I had a good time there. The music is real American Garage and soul with a flavour of Chicago house thrown in. Good to Dance to all night. I think the tourists spoil it a bit because the owners pump up the price of drinks because they know the tourist will pay them. The atmosphere is quite friendly as everyone is out to have a good time unlike similar london clubs such as bagleys. Well recommended!!!
