Advantages: brilliant music, venue size, 2 bars

Disadvantages: shows run *just* slightly too late to catch the tube sometimes

Good well-stocked bar as well as a second bar upstairs with fair prices. But what makes the Camden Barfly worthy of 5 stars is the venue upstairs and the bands the Barfly attracts. The venue is rather small/intimate. Another plus is there are no security guards blocking your view of the stage, and in my numerous visits, only once have they felt the need to put up a barrier. I have been to countless indie and punk shows here, although I have been made aware that all types of music and club nights exist, just check their website's full listings ahead of time if you are interested in the music, they usually have a blurb about the bands on each night.
The closest tube is the northern line with the Chalk Farm station being the closest and Camden town station a bit further comming from the opposite direction. I mention this because I have found that the Barfly is often worth the journey, even if it is not in your locality.

Summary: Nice small venue, or just a place to drink!
