Advantages: Free - open late. Cute bar staff
Disadvantages: Gets very crowded
CC's is a well known gay club/pub in Edinburgh. It's been around for a while - and was recently renovated - not that you'd be able to tell - it's just a little darker. It's pub upstairs and club downstairs, with occasional Cabaret upstairs. Lots of people know about it as it isis next door to the Playhouse Theatre - and lots of unsuspecting heterosexuals go there for pre-theatre drinks - probably wandering "why are there so many men sitting together". One of the best things about it - is it's free entry. If you're in Edinburgh - and you're gay - you'll have probably been. If you're coming up to the Festival it's a definite one to go to. People often go there after one of the parade of gay pubs next door and in the Pink Triangle - aptly named.
The music changes according to the night (and I'm always too drunk to remember what night is what). It's quite cruisey (isn't any gay club) - but quite fun. Bar staff are friendly - and often quite cute!
It is 99% gay (with friends of gay people - making up the other 1%) apart from pre-theatre drinks. Straight people are allowed in - but probably not a group of 15 rugger buggers out for trouble - more's the pity! Enjoy! (& I don't work there!)
