"Pick that jaw off the floor, dust off those dancing shoes and hotstep it into the melee. Stroke the walls. Yes they're real velvet. Why, you all look so lovely tonigt I could just eat you all up, cuffs 'n all. Zowie, it's my song; 'Hey mambo, mambo Italiano'. No sir I just dance for fun, but feel free to applaud. Hey is that man eating swords? Mmmmm I'm feeling lucky lady, fancy a spin? Champagne and roulette, what's your lucky number? Red 7? Well who am to deny a honey as lovely as you? Another cocktail, anyone?"
Don't miss the evening that is 'Glam with a capital G'! This event gives you that feeling of dressing up as a kid and pretending to be someone you aren't. Hence the crowds become the beautiful people and the atmosphere reigns! Of course the Cheap wine helps this eve flow as it should. And how refreshing to finally see some interest in SE London! So get your most ridiculous heels on, dig out the glitter and party, baby!
A wild, retro, cool, fab, groovy, cult kitsch loungecore extravaganza of a party in the faded grandeur of a red-velvet lined, gold-trim, chandelier-hung ballroom. There's nothing quite like it anywhere. Expect cabaret, crooners, ballroom dancers and bad magicians, lounge lizards, latin lovers, and a ladies boudoir, roulette, romance, moonlight, music and martini's. Check your troubles and your pretentions in at the door and be a star for the night. They just don't make 'em like this anymore; a blast from the past. (Is that 75 words yet?)
'Club Montepulciano is a kitschtastic medley of all that is genuinely cool about lounging, from the sumptuous surroundings of the original 50's Rivoli Ballroom to the, at times, surreal cabaret acts to the deliciously attitude free crowd who dress with the panache of any frustrated Holly Golightly or Paul Varjak.' I have only been twice, but Montepulciano has been such a find - quite simply the best club night I have ever been to. Highly recommended nights each with a specific theme - make the effort to dress you best, you'll be glad you did.
