Advantages: Brand new, Free admission before 10pm, Central Nottingham
Disadvantages: Expensive drinks
'The Works' nightclub first opened in May 2001, part of the newly built 'Cornerhouse' building on Burton Street. For those who know Nottingham, it is situated where the old Evening Post building was, next to Trinity Square. The Cornerhouse also houses TGI Fridays, Warner Cinema and some other restaurants. It is a large nightclub covering 2 floors. There are a number of nooks and crannies - different rooms and areas. I have only been on Friday nights where the music is classified as "dance anthems" - covering a variety of dance tracks from the last 15-20 years, but there are different themes throughout the week. It is open 7 days a week and the biggest attraction is that admission is free before 10pm every night! Visit www.theworks-nottingham.co.uk for details. The interior is very modern - lots of metal and wood. The bars have lots of neon lighting and mirrors. One thing that stands out at 'The Works' is that there are loads of toilets!! Virtually everywhere you look! They even have in the ladies toilets a 'twobicle' which has two toilets in, so you can chat to your mate whilst doing the business!! (Not my idea of fun, I hasten to add!). The sound system is incredible - very bassy and loud. You can feel the music pounding when on the dancefloor. There are usually a couple of skimpily-clad women dancing on the podiums with a circle of wide-mouthed boys looking up from below! It's entertainment I suppose! I really enjoy going to The Works - I like the music, the spaciousness, the location being central in Nottingham, the ease at getting taxis afterwards, the food (also served in the daytime), but there is one major disadvantage - the extortionate prices of drinks! A round of 3 drinks cost over ten pounds last week - three pounds fifty for a bottle of Bacardi Breezer! So, yes, free admission is great before 10pm, but be prepared to pay for it in drinks. There is a membership sche
me running - on entering the club there is a counter where you sign up and receive a card. You can claim 20% off food, and get perks with group bookings and admission costs. I still go to 'Rock City' regularly, but 'The Works' is a refreshing change. I would recommend giving it a go.

Sorry, but I could only U this, as you didn't tell us about the styles of music that get played! God forbid I turn up expecting a new Rock city, and find myself subjected to Steps and the Vengaboys! AGH!
Let me know if you change the op a little and I'll happily change the rating a little :@
