A well overdue update!
Member Name: KaribouFluff
Advantages: great music, friendly and interesting people, live gigs
Disadvantages: there is never any toilet paper - bring your own girls!
Well it seems that a bit of an update on Corporation is due...
Firstly, the nightclub moved quite a few years ago, and is now on the corner of Eldon Street and Milton Street, near the Devonshire Cat pub. If you're on Division street, walk down the side of the Forum Bar (with Devonshire Green on your right) and keep walking, down the side of the Devonshire Cat, and eventually you'll be stood in the queue to get into Corp.
Many of the classic club nights still remain the same, Oddball, Reservoir Rocks, Hardside and Drop, however there are now new additions, such as The Skool Disco on wednesday nights, to please the student crowd and less hard-core rock fans amongst you. (Yes you are expected to turn up in School uniform).
There is now more live bands playing, with many big names visiting over the years, such as Kill2This, Hed(pe) and due soon Gary Numan. They had a crack at an under 18s night too (not sure if it's still running) called K-Corp (which I'm pretty sure stands for 'Kiddie Corp'.
If you're a die hard Corp fan, you'll see many of the old faces, and new faces too (those of us have been going for years believe that all the new faces are 'underage kids' till we find out they are actually all over 18, and it's just that we've got several years older!
Halloween is always a highlight on the Corp calendar, everyone comes in costumes - bring a pumpkin and get in free!
The music is still great, and it's still a dingy rock club. Don't be fooled by apperances, most of the patrons are actually really lovely people!
Summary: Different venue, new club nights and old!
