Advantages: two different floors, lots of club nights and themed nights
Disadvantages: drinks could be a bit cheaper, or more drink deals
I recently visited the electric ballroom for the second time. The first time i went was for a gig, and the second was for one of their club nights named "Sin City" which happens every friday. As i recall it cost me 6 pounds to get in. The club is located literally about three shops down form Camden tube station. Obviously there's lots of bus stops around too. So it's easy to get to. Staff all seem quite friendly. The contents of my bag were emptied upon arrival and i was patted down in a search by security. This was quite reassuring to see them being so thorough. Many door staff these days just open a bag and that's that. So i felt quite safe there. It's quite well sized, with two floors. This also means they can have two different types of music on each floor. There are two bars downstairs and there may have been a smaller one upstairs but i am unsure as i didn't spend much time there. They mainly play old school and new rock downstairs. Theres big dancefloor and a good air con system! There's a smoking area out back, some of which is sheltered for those of you that need it. Prices of drinks are what you would expect in central london. Red stripe being its main beer/lager and for about 2.80 a can and a house vodka and mixer was about the same. A good night out all in all. When i went to the gig there the prices we around the same. I went upstairs to watch the band after a while and you could see well. The toilets (girls anyway i cant speak for boys!) were clean and there was never any big queues as there was quite a lot of cubicles.
Summary: Good venue
