“ Cardigan Fields, Leeds. „
Evolution is a large nightclub just out from Leeds city centre. They cater for a large range of people with a student night on Monday, Vodka on Thursday, garage on a friday a cheesy/ dance night on Saturday and Sundissential once a month on a sunday. On Monday and Thursday the place is packed with slightly the worse for wear students, this may be due to the ridiculous drink prices, £1 for a double vodka, yes please! This combined with the cheesiest of chart music ensures a party to be remembered (or maybe not). On Friday the clientel has a slightly more classy feel about them as they get down to some seriously underground music, with many guest DJ's this night is a must for the serious garage lover. Saturdays is the normal local club with a wide range of music from chart to dance for the slightly older crowd. Those looking for 'the world's craziest club' should look here monthly, Sundissential has taken up residence here and is not for the faint of heart, with the hardest of hard house music and a residents only policy it's for serious clubbers only.I think evolution has something for everyone, with many bars, nice decor and brilliant visuals in room 2 you can dance or chill to your hearts content.
This club has a lot of potential, it is a well thought out place with great interesting decor. The 'second' room in particular can create a great atmosphere. I have been visiting this club on and off over the last couple of years. Whilst it has not changed the physical aspects of the club much, unfortunately they have changed the types of music. I used to go regularly when they had 'ascension' on a saturday night (good quality trance in one room with slightly more cheesy dance music in the main room) - which used to pack in loads of people and everyone was up for it. Now they don't have a night like this, it has become a nightclub for lager lads and gagging for it girls playing anything from 80's to cheese between the two rooms. Don't get me wrong it is great if you are going for a drunken night out and don't care what you are subjected to music wise. The final thing to say is its best feature, they do have acquired once a month one of the best clubs nights in the country (days?) - that is Sundissential, I now really only go for that!
I've been a student in leeds for a couple of years now and I've been to the student nights there on Mondays ( I think they've moved to Wednesdays now) every week. There is two rooms, a huge one playing chart and dance music and a cheesy room playing anything from rock to cheesy steps. The rooms are tastefully decorated with bones and body parts in one room and videoscreens and stars in another. There are pleany of bars but you always have to wait for AGES to get served as there arnt enough barstaf. Get plaseterd before you go... Overall - A good night out pleanty of fit blokes and women!!!! yummie
