The Fubar! The best night club in Stirling by far. I'd just like to say right at the start of this op that I'm sorry if the details are a bit sketchy, but every time I've been to the Fubar it's after I've been to a few pubs first. It's all a bit hazy really. The one thing I do remember is that I've always had a good time in the Fubar. The Fubar is located in Stirling town centre, 6 Maxwell Place. Just round the corner (within staggering distance) from O'Neills(a fine pub - check out my op!). Once you get past the cheery doormen and give your £7(last time I was there) to the girl behind the desk you are free to roam about the club. The club is split over two levels. Downstairs is a sort of pub/game area. There is a small dance floor, but it's more of a pub area really - lots of seats so you can rest your feet. There's a pool table or two(I might have been seeing double at this point) and some arcade machines etc. The downstairs section is the place to be if you've spent all night shakin' your stuff and need a rest. But don't ask for a pint, they only sell bottles of beer. Upstairs is where the action is at. Time to pull out all your funkiest moves and impress the ladies(or men - whatever floats your boat). Upstairs is the dance area. Big, slightly sticky floored with perilous steps up and down where you least expect them. That's Fubar. The bar is suitably long. But if you're up here you're not really interested in drink, you want to dance. There is a stage area at the far end of the club, where all the best dancers(or posers) and the very drunk people show the rest of the club how cool they are. Getting up there is no mean feat after eight pints, six vodka & red bulls and four aftershocks! The Fubar has theme nights. It's 70's night every Friday (I think - it may be Saturday. Let me know if you
know). I was at the Fubar on one of their 70's nights and it was great. Lots of cheesy 70's songs and cool 70's dancers on the stage doing a little show. Funky. You can dress up for it if you want too, although you tend to get funny looks in the pubs before you go to the Fubar! So there you go. Fubar - the best club in Stirling. The drink may be slightly expensive, but that's not what you're there for. Just mind those steps! And if you don't know what 'Fubar' is, watch Saving Private Ryan. Very apt.
