Advantages: good mix of music

Disadvantages: RnB room too small

I have only ever been to Garlands on a Thursday night during term time as a uni student so i cannot comment on the rest of the nights but i will review the number of thursdays i have been there!

When you first walk up Erbele Street on a Thursday night normally about 11/12pm the first thing you notice is the amount of student queueing up. Although there is normally a theme on a Thursday night as it is a Vodka Nation student night the majority of people tend to ignore the fancy dress guidelines and just wear normal dressing up clothes.

Once you get to the front of the queue you are charged £5 and are free to enter the club. When you get to the foyer you notice a stair case, if you were to go down there you would be in the pop/cheese room. Down here there are normally quite alot of people but it is a big room so doesnt seem too squashed/

Back upstairs and you go into a room on your left. This is one of the smallest rooms and resembles more of a coridoor and gets very squashed. It is the RnB rooand is very popular so it is quite uncomfortable and very warm. The bar takes up the majority of the space as does the stage so it is basically like a walk way as it leads on to another room as well as the toilets.

The other room which you get to buy going through the RnB room is the dance room. This is probably the biggest room in the club, however maybe not one of the populest from experience.

The promotional drink on a Thursday is quite cheap, £2 for a vodka and mixer, however the vodka is always warm as they are prepoured and then just filled with the mixer and you very rarely got offered ice. It is also cheap vodka and not Smirnoff. You can also get 3 bottles of alcopop for £5, again this isn't top quality alcohol and there is limited flavours, though i guess you get what you pay for. I think any other drinks which aren't involved in the promotions are just average price for a Liverpool city centre club.

One word of advice is that the club often gets very hot, sweaty and humid so if you are going to take a jacket make sure you put it in the cloak room which costs a pound but if you didnt you'd probably melt!

Summary: good but there are better student nights
