Ikon and Diva (York)Newest Review: ... After short queue of about 5 minutes we gained entry to the club, we had flyers that we had picked up around town to get £1 off admission, but it was still £4, about average for that sort of club I should think. After paying off the cloakroom staff to the tune of a pound we continued into the club… The club is divided into two rooms, Ikon, and Diva, understand? Ikon plays all kinds of ‘party’ music, what you an d I know as cheese, and Diva plays the more dancey stuff. I didn’t venture into Ikon, apart from when the toilets overflowed in ... more |

Not that I've got anything against more commercial clubs, I just don't go to them. End of story. So, the reason that I found myself in Ikon and Diva was that my girlfriend lives in York, and after much research we found out that there are only four clubs in York. If you're out clubbing in York, basically it's a lost cause. But a night out which myself and my friends do regularly is that of Ikon & Diva. Situated outside York it's simply not worth it unless you do the obvious and catch one of the regular free buses on certain nights of the week ( check the website for details: http://www.ikondiva.co.uk ). The building is impressive - the lights and screens in Ikon is certainly the best York has to offer, ... Read the complete review

If any of you who are reading this have been to York then you will understand the dilema that I live in we have only 4 clubs in my wonderful city and here is a brief explanation of each. Ikon and Diva- a commercial club loads in uk crap music to big atmosphere crowded very strict dress code and its about 3 miles out of york so if u forget your Id your fucked,(also drinks are 2 expensive and they have guest dj's such as SASH playing) Imean come on. Gallery-nice size friendly staff way to many students music can leave you feeling abit cheesy but you'll probably have a good night coz you'll always see at least 1 person u know which could be a good thing ...
