Yeeeeehaaah ! Took me a while to get this put in a category, now i'm one happy bunny, well happy as i can be without recreational pharmaceuticals !?

I've gotta write this, it's important to me, it won't get many reads but it'll be immortalised in the Dooyoo vaults and will always reflect the passion i have for this place !

Ok, the best way i can talk Jillys is by actually doing a walk-through of a typical Saturday night !

It's been another mad Saturday afternoon, running about, shopping, going here there and everywhere, basically trying to get all the sh*t out of the way so that nothing could possibly cock up the evenings plans.

It gets to 8pm, i'm feeling salty, my body is prepared for another crazy night in city centre M'cr ! After much bickering with the lads about whose turn it is to drive, we eventually get into town for about 9pm. I tend to meet some friends outside the club and go handing out flyers, i don't get paid for this but it's a buzz to do and it gets some appreciation !

Getting into the club happens pretty early for us lot, as a few hardcorers and ourselves like to get going pretty quick, (I like to be well into the swing of things before 10.30), and we usually get the DJ to put stuff on that we really buzz off !

Now, Jillys is not a big club, but it has 3 rooms all with different styles of music playing which is damn handy if you fancy a sudden change in scene. It is moodily lit all around the club, mainly due to the fact that nobody can be arsed fixing the lights ! There are no mod cons and the pool tables are shabby, the air-con doesn't work and the walls are painted black to hide the sh*t !
But I LOVE THIS CLUB ! It's so diverse in everyway, totally hardcore, no f*ckin' thrills etc..........

Back to the commentary. About 10.30ish the club starts to fill up, every walk of life wearing anything they want rolls into Jillys for the
usual storming night ! Like i said Jillys isn't a big club and a lot of faces in there are familiar week after week, gets kinda friendly if you know what i mean !
Even the straight heads come in to witness the bizarre and the unusual, and especially the beautiful, a lot of the females go to great lengths to look totally stunning wearing the horniest goth gear you've ever seen, (damn it, i've just slobbered on ma keyboard). Everything goes well on a Sat, there is rarely any trouble, (usually p*ssed up straight heads), but the bouncers are a pretty descent lot and sort trouble out very swiftly ! It gets really packed about 11.30 when the pubs kick out, and the atmosphere in the club becomes more rowdy and generally more interesting !

Everywhere you look there is something going on, like i said it's a mad club, everyone looks like there having a good time whether chillin' out or going mental on any one of the three dance floors.
The music is always played by request, as long as it isn't sh*te anyway. Unless the DJ is havin' a sh*tty night in which case he plays whatever the hell he wants !

It never fails to disappoint as the drinks are cheap before 10.30 (£1.20 for a pint), it's free to get in with a flyer before 9.30pm and even the pool is only 40p a game !

The end of every Sat at Jillys leaves me sweating and exhausted from jumping around like a kitten following a Vindaloo ! I smile for many hours afterwards and then i'm p*ssed off coz it's a whole week til i get to do it all again !

Incidentally, this is only one out of three nights a week that the club is open, Thursday is student cheapskate night and Friday is an all nighter that finishes at 7am ! But that's another kettle of fish altogether.

My closing statement is this:
I've never known anyone go to the club and not have a great night. Try it you just might like it !
