Advantages: lots of like-minded people up for a good time

Disadvantages: if your looking for a quiet time stay away from parties

I travelled Thailand last summer and I cannot wait to go back. I toured a lot of the islands and my highlight of my trip was my time on Koh Phangan. Koh Phangan is a great party island, home to the Full Moon Party and Half Moon Party. The Full Moon Party is a massive party on the beach. All the bars along the beach play different genres of music so there is something for everyone, from pop to dance. The night is dominated by the buckets which contain copious amounts of alcohol in each for a very cheap price. Everyone is there to have a good time so the atmosphere is really good, and you are sure to have an amazing time until the sun comes the following morning. I stayed in a hotel slightly away from the beach and it was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Many of teh hotels on the islands are wooden huts on the beach with amazing atmospheres and the friendliness of the people is what makes your time there so special. I could spend all day explaining how amazing Koh Phangan is, but the best thing for you to do is if you get the chance go!
