I went to Liquid in Basingstoke just under 4 weeks ago. I was very dissapointed, lets put it this way the only thing that I was really impressed with was the toilets.

I went to basingstoke to spend the weekend with my sister and she suggested we try Liquid out. I know that basingstoke is only a town so we shouldn't expect too much but there are certain qualities you expect from a new nightclub trying to make a good name for itself.

When we first arrived it was near empty which I was expecting as it was still quite early. The bouncers let us in and we were charged around £7 each.

We went to the bar, the lads wanted lager and their favourite brands were there, this is not the case when it comes to what we probably know as alchopops. With it being a new club I was expecting the latest brands of these popular drinks to be on offer, unfortunatly the only things they had on offer were unknown drinks at very expensive prices.

The toilets were ok, apart from the fact that there were lots of glasses and bottles in there that looked as if they had been there since the night before (I assume this was the case as we were about the first customers in there.

Now on to the Music, I was most dissapointed in this. Where I come from Friday night is a sort of hardcore night and Saturday is the popular music night (i.e a wide range of music, with a little bit of something for everyone) Again not the case in liquid. What looked like a schoolboy in his element appeared, and took his place in the DJ box. When he started the music it seemed ok at first but as the night went on I realised we had been listening to the same beat all night, it was getting a little tedious. But then the DJ didn't seem to be doing much as he was far to busy with the hoard of women that he was now dancing with in his little box!!!!

The bouncers were horrible, i witnessed one pick up this girl in the middle of a club and simulate sex with her,
where I live I have never even seen a bouncer talk to the women let alone do this. One bouncer was that busy ogling a girl that at one point he lifted his arm up and hit me in the face then walked off, no apology!!!!

We left a lot earlier than planned as we were very dissapointed I would not recommend this club or any others in the Liquid chain to anyone. But hey go and try it the best thing about is that there is a woman in the toilet with sweets for sale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
