Newest Review: ... Just be careful when you’re going up and down the stairs- I’ve not fallen yet although I’ve walked straight into the metal staircase. Unfortunately drinks are very pricy, I'd suggest going to Redback Bar next door before coming in. Redback Bar isn't the best bar but its cheap (bottles from a £1). I mean if the aim is getting drunk what does it matter?! I've ... more

... paid £3.30 for a bottle of Smirnoff Ice which is ridiculous. Recently Media has changed owners and I'm extremely sad that my favourite Thursday night 'Satellite' no longer exists. I'm not the only one not impressed with the inferior repl...more

Famous for their Renaissance night (although they no longer have it as it's moved to London), Media is an amazing venue and boasts having amazing one-off events like the Damage gig in March last year as well as newer more popular nights now. It is a converted theatre, and therefore has a huge main auditorium as well as a variety of other rooms including a blue room, a VIP lounge and a multi-media games room. This is brilliant for restless people like me who want to play games one minute and then dance the next. There isn't much seating in the club, but this doesn't matter to me as I don't sit down once I'm there unless I'm ...  Read the complete review

Media is a high class club in the centre of Nottingham, in the shell of an old theatre. It is excellent if what you are looking for is a quality night out, a bit different to the usual cheesy alternatives during the week in Nottingham. The music on the main dancefloor is usually house though the club consists of a number of different rooms, each with its own atmosphere. There is even a playstation room! There are special nights where the music policy changes but to get the full Media experience you should really go when true Media music is in use. The club is quite pricey as far as drinks and entrance fee go compared to most other clubs in Nottingham, especially ...  Read the complete review

Media in general: Media On A Thursday (107 words)

Media, situated on Queen Street in Nottingham has a number of attractions including various bars and even an R'n'B Room. Entry fee on a Thursday night is £3 with a flyer and £4 without but because its student night, there are plenty of single, young people around. You can get in anytime after 10:30pm but you can sometimes expect a queue as its one if not the best club in Nottingham. The music, except in the R'n'B Room is mostly trance and you can dance on the dancefloors or just take a pew next to one of the bars. Whatever you do, you can expect a great night out! ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Want a fantastic night out? (234 words)

Media is situated in an old theatre building, which means that the ceiling is high, there is a big stage to get up and dance on, but also there are stairs down to the dance floor and the toilets which can be a bit steep after a few...! The dance floor is packed whatever night you go and for a good reason - it's the best night out in Nottingham. Don't lose sight of your friends! Thursdays is student night with commercial dance, house, and garage, Wednesdays is a bit less frenzied and still really popular with the students - there's a bit more chart music and the drinks aren't so expensive. Saturdays is Renaissance, and some of the biggest ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Media in general: VERY average Media... (182 words)

Rating:

Lots of hype when it opened a while ago, and the fact that it used to be a cinema is all well and good. But this cannot detract from the fact that the dancefloor might as well not be there - it's that small, the bar staff are some of the worst I have ever seen, and the constant steps up and down are a complete pain even when sober - when pissed they can be very painful. It has some nice touches though. The toilets are very nice, and there are some attractive single women, but these factors are offset because the place is just so jammed full of single blokes. The prices are also too steep for Nottingham too. £12 on a Saturday is never going to ...  Read the complete review
