Advantages: Top club, great DJs, fab night out.
Disadvantages: Expensive at weekends.
Media is situated in an old theatre building, which means that the ceiling is high, there is a big stage to get up and dance on, but also there are stairs down to the dance floor and the toilets which can be a bit steep after a few...! The dance floor is packed whatever night you go and for a good reason - it's the best night out in Nottingham. Don't lose sight of your friends!
Thursdays is student night with commercial dance, house, and garage, Wednesdays is a bit less frenzied and still really popular with the students - there's a bit more chart music and the drinks aren't so expensive. Saturdays is Renaissance, and some of the biggest names on the UK club scene can be found there - Pete Tong, Danny Rampling, Judge Jules, even Boy George!
The club is a bit of a maze outside the main dance floor, with rooms here and there for food, more chilled out music - there's even a playstation room!
It is quite expensive at the weekend but much less so during the week or if you have an NUS card (ie £2 on wednesdays), but altogether it's a brilliant night out in the centre of Nottingham. It's just across the road from a cash machine and a short stroll to the nearest kebab shop. Bliss!
