Metalheadz has to rate up there as one of the best club nights in London. As the craze for superclubs dies down, people have started to realise the overcrowded, overpriced pretentious joints are often outclassed by the smaller establishments, which offer a more intermate atmosphere. Metalheadz has never been at held, regularly, at large venues, initially The Blue Note and The Leisure Lounge, it moved onto Dingwalls and has subsequently moved on again. All venues, whilst not being tiny, give that sense of intimacy, backed up with one of the loudest sound systems in the capital, drum and bass is heard in it's element. The next quality thing about Metalheadz is it's promotion policy. If you go along to any other nights the main thing advertised is which DJ's are playing, consequently hords of little boys and girls who like the image of the scene and have heard of Andy C end up packing out joints making it unconfatable and annoying, and they all go BOOOOOM, which has to be the most annoying thing around at the moment. Metalheadz have a list of DJ's including, the man himself Goldie, Grooverider, Fabio, Randall, Doc Scott, Kemistry, J Majik, Loxy etc. etc. Such a list of artists can't be matched by anyone else, and Metalheadz will never disclose who's playing at their regular Sunday sessions. This has the effect of the crowd really being there for the music. Everyone knows all the DJ's are spot on, but thats not the point, Metalheadz is about a style of Drum n Bass that no-one else offers. Proper Drum n Bass.
