“ Old Harcourt Street, Dublin. „
The Pod nightclub is actually part of the Pod 'complex' that is three separate but joined buildings; the Chocolate bar, the Redbox (highly recommended) and the Pod. It's quite confusing at first and wasn't quite sure which venue I waas in, but it dosen't really matter because the whole place is good fun. On the nights that I have been there, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, it has mainly been house music, mixed with a bit of trance. There are live Dj's spinning the decks, and it can go from harder house to the more commercial stuff. The actual Pod nightclub itself is quite small in comparison to the Redbox, which is spacious and has some interesting decor. Drinks are expensive in the Pod nightclub, a vodka and coke can cost £4 even on a student night. Another thing is the bouncers who always seem to have a attitude problem whatever night you go, and however your dressed. Still, the people in the Pod are always friendly, happy types ready for a boogie. There is a excellent R'n'B night on Thursday's in the Pod which makes a change to the house music. The club is supposed to be a bit of a celebrity haunt, or so I had been told (well Boyzone have filmed videos here?!!!!!) but to tell you the truth I didn't spot any even on a Saturday night, and even in the VIP room, which by the way is rubbish. Still, the Pod always makes for a good night because the people in there make it so.
