What can I say.. if you like clubbing then you must visit Progress. I've been going for over a year now, and i'm a regular, know all the regulars, promoter etc. The experience is so much better if you have lots of friends at a club.

Anyway, back to the point. Progress is a night @ Time nightclub in Derby, East Midlands, with a capacity of 1,100, and the venue itself is very nice! It's music policy is hard house and trance. More of the hard house really.

Its residents are Pete Wye and Marc Brough. Rob Webster has been a resident for many years but recently quit Progress. If you know hard house, then you'll know what kind of DJ's will play at Progress. The Tidy Boys, Andy Farley, Ingo, Fergie, Rachel Auburn, Anne Savage, Yomanda, Sarah G, Lisa Lashes, Andy Farley, Steve Thomas, Lisa Pin Up, Ingo and theres probably some more which I have forgotten.

A recent night I attended, was definitely worth going. Fergie & Alan Thompson DJ's, along with resident Pete Wye. Fergie's set was hard trance, and it does make a change from hard house. I think his music style
was very good, despite some people not liking him, but he played great set. Pete Wye played a good set, despit a few mistakes which were soon corrected. He's a great resident and Progress loves him! Alan Thompson was bouncy! That was the best way to describe his set. Having never seen Alan Thompson before, he made a great impression and his bouncy set was an ideal finish to a top night.

Apart from that single night, i've been to countless others, and I can't remember a single night that wasn't worth going. It really is worth a visit if you like hard house, and if you haven't been already, then go to its website, www.progressclubbing.com to look at the line-ups for the next couple of months. Prices have just risen unfortunately, and now stand at £8/10.

Progress has recently started a night in Leice
ster, @ Junction 21. It has more or less the same line-up as Derby.

On July 7th, Progress (Derby) is moving venue. Some people say that this is a step backwards, but most people think its a good idea. The new venue is slightly smaller, but does have 3 rooms, which means 3 different styles of music, and is nicely decorated, with a good sound system. The venue is situated in the city centre, which means better access for everyone, and is very close to the Progress bar, which is due to open later this year. Progress has recently been booking a different selection of dj's, such as Ziad, and Sarah G, resulting in a variety of hard/house & trance.
