Advantages: Good for a special occasion especially if you dress up, cheap drinks, fun music

Disadvantages: Really hot and quite a big queue at the bar

Occasion;
We went to Reflex 80s Bar and Nightclub for my sisters hen party in June.

The Location:
It is off Lace Market street which is one of the main streets in Nottingham for bars and restaurants. We stayed in the Ibis hotel just round the corner (and a very cheap hotel) which was only a couple of minutes walk so perfect. Just beware that in the very centre the car parks are really expensive, for example £16 for 24 hours, but if you drive out for literally a minute (so just 5 minutes walk from the centre) you can get car parks for a few pounds for 24 hours.

The Venue:
The club is on 3 different levels - the first is a bar area, the second is the dancing area with a revolving dancefloor (the highlight of the club!) and the third is another bar area. They are all very small floors so don't get the wrong impression that this is a massive club. It was pretty full and absolutely boiling hot. We all dressed in 80s fancy dress and there were quite a few other people there in 80s or with a few 80s accessories on but by no means was it the whole club so you would feel comfortable in fancy dress or in normal clothes.

The People:
Everyone was really friendly and getting really into the 80s music and revolving dancefloor. I think when there is a theme like this it gets people more excited and up for a laugh.

The Music:
80s of course! All your favourite classics, most tunes will have you running up to the dancefloor so you don't miss it.

Opening Times:
It was open until 2am which wasn't quite late enough for us and there wasn't anywhere else that we knew that we could go to afterwards

Prices:
We got in for £2 each but I'm not sure what it normally is. If you book a party package, which is for free, you can queue jump and get a free bottly of bubbly and a party package (I think with silly things to wear in it), but you have to get in before 10pm. This is also mainly for hen and stag parties but I'm sure you could just book a party package anyway if there were enough of you.
Drinks were really cheap and a round of 4 drinks was less than a tenner - brilliant! There was also a girl going round selling shots for £2.50 each. The queue at the bar was fairly bad and took normally 10 minutes + to get served.

Verdict:
So much fun for a one-off especially if it's a special occasion and you want to dress up. I reckon it's probably the type of place that if you live in Nottingham and go to a few times, you will probably get sick of it.

Summary: So much fun for a special occasion but no doubt you would get bored of it if you lived in Nottingham

I really don't like 80s music but the atmosphere in Reflex clubs is always really addictive!
