Sankey's as it is now called is a dance club in Manchester situated down a backstreet in Ancoats (Radium Street). The club was voted 5th Best club in the world by clubbers in the 2009 voting from djmag. 2009 saw sankeys reach its 15th birthday and with this the club made 15 improvements in a bid to make it the number one club in the world (voting of which has now recently opened again).

The club tends to cater for various different forms of dance music, however one off nights are sometimes held there and once a month there is a drum and bass night there (some would argue this is a form of dance music though).

Sankeys has been one of the best clubs globally for years, but with attendances apparently up 25% in 2009 in a year in which we had the world's worst recession that was pretty good!

Djs as diverse as Carl Cox, The Chemical Brothers, Armin Van Buuren, Laidback Luke and 2 many djs played as part of the 15th birthday celebrations.

2010 see's artists such as Tiefschwarz, Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler, DJ Sneak, Nick Curly, Timo Maas, Felix Da Housecat, James Zabeila, Boys Noize and John Dahlback to just name a few!

The club itself has a bar area with djs on, then the main room (known as the basement) which a great light set up in there and visuals behind the dj which hosts the main dj. Then there is an outdoor cinema section and outdoor smoking area. Upstairs the club is known as Spektrum, some nights this is hosted as a different club and sometimes the same club depending what night it on and what dj is playing.

The club is open till around 5.30am and runs till 7am on certain nights.

Drinks prices are reasonable compared to other clubs and bars in Manchester.

The club has a cash machine and a cloakroom area that is big enough to keep your bags - so you don't even need a hotel if you travelling from far!
