In the main room the bar stretches down the side of the dancefloor with the dj boothe at the far end of the room. There is also a small amount of seats at the back of the room. The Space is a relatively new addition to the Leeds club scene, it opened a year and a half ago near the corn exchange in the town centre, close to a lot of the trendy bars and also close to the canal. The club is located down a back alley, but it is easily given away by the long ques on most nights. Once beating the que's and entering the club you go down some stairs into a small reception room, if you then turn right you are thrust into the main room, and left into the smaller second room. As someone who is not a big fan of clubbing in general, I was pleasantly surprised by The Space, but that could be down to the VIP wristband I was wearing. As the first opinion stated, there is not a lot of room and there seems to be a prevalent drug culture, but it is in no way opressive. The first time I loved it and have returned (admittely with VIP status) frequently since. All the staff I have met have been very polite and accomodating as are most of the people in the club. Standing in the queue you'd swear this was the biggest dive ever. I was thanking the heavens that there was only a short wait to get inside. The dismal and depressing entrance does little to inspire and I was ready for a quick dance and a quick exit. I begrudgingly paid my £10 entrance fee whilst making a sarcastic remark about the extortionate price of clubbing nowadays, not that the bored till lady actually gave a shit, then carried on down the stairs. My friend tripping and tumbling down the stairs put me in a better mood and off I went to seek out the toilets.
