The Maidstone branch of Strawberry Moons opened a few years ago now, in a building which became an empty space after the Ro9bert Dyas store reduced in size by about half.

The building was nicely cleaned up and had quite extensive rennovations to make it look nice and fresh and quite stylish with marble tiles and brass door handles etc etc.

This is really as much as I can tell you about the club because I have never managed to get in. My friends and I have tried on a number of occassions and have failed to get in each and every time without exception. It seems the door staff operate a policy whereby if your face doesn't fit you won't get in.

The reasons my friends and I have been given have ranged from "No groups of lads"...when there were only three of us trying to get in, "it's one in one out at the moment" when we have clearly seen them let in groups of others in just in front of us and indeed after us to a simple "not tonight" for seemingly no reason.

Now, I could understand this if my friends and I were scruffy, or drunken or looked like trouble but we don't, half my friends don't really drink, we're always well dressed, shirts and shoes etc etc. We're not rowdy in the queue and none of us have ever caused any trouble anywhere.

The only thing which I think counts against us is the fact that none of us your typical fashion conscious mindless style sheep with the latest shirt etc from the latest trendy shop. We each have our own tastes and styles which might mean our faces don't fit with the image the club is trying to portray.

From reports from people I know that have managed to get in, it's alright inside, nothing special just your typical club with bars, dance areas etc etc and a typical range of music from a bit dancy to a bit RnB-ish to a bit cheesey. Havin heard this, I have never again attempted to get in because not only would I still be unlikely to manage it, but frankly I don't want to spend my time in a place which clearly has an overblown sense of it's own status...at the end of the day it's a bog standard chain club in a town which is just like any other!!!

If I could give a lower mark than 1 star I would!!!
