Now I am not the oldest person going out clubbing any means, I am barely legal in fact, however I have been going for quite a while, I have been going to the same club every Friday for about 10 months, as it is the only place in my rubbish town of Chester that plays the music that I want to hear.

But it is recently that I have been looking round and thinking ‘my god I am old’. Going out in the evening has almost turned into a teen fest, the club I went into on Thursday night I think I was probably the oldest person in there. And some of the girls around were as young as 14-15. I ask you what is going on with society.

Now I realise people are maturing at a younger age nowadays, or at least they would like to think that they are, but I am damn sure that I would have not been allowed clubbing at 14 years of age, my parents would just not have allowed it. And surely it is slightly more acceptable for lads to go out than girls, due to the fact that a lad has more chance of being able to defend himself in a club than a girl.

For instance, let me make a scenario, you have a girl, she has got a little bit drunk, as most girls seem to do off about 3 Bacardi’s (a big generalisation, but I am afraid it is true) anyway, she is feeling the influence a bit, when some very drunk guy makes an approach on her, he is about 21 or something, so he has about 7 years on her. She tells him she isn’t interested, but he won’t take no for an answer. (which is another sad state of affairs at clubs) He starts getting a bit over friendly and starts feeling her up and stuff. Who knows what could happen outside? And she wouldn’t be able to defend herself at all.

In my mind I have raised another couple of points that I want to address, even though they have nothing to do with my first point, this is turning into a bit of a ramble.

I have been taking my girlfriend clubbing with me each week while I was with her, now
I will admit that she is stunning, maybe a bit too good looking for her own good to be honest, this got me in so much trouble. It has been virtually every week when a guy has come up to her, and she has told him to go away, but he wouldn’t, and started feeling her up, she is 18 but very small, so she can’t defend herself. Well I always dance fairly near her in case something like that happens. And it normally does.

I then have to step over and make the guy know that the girl he is attempting to pull is my girl, this can get a few responses, the guy will just walk off, the guy will get violent with me, or the guy will keep on trying to pull my girl. What is wrong with blokes? I just do not understand, well the end result of this, is I have been getting in a fight outside the club or inside the club virtually every week for the past two months, sad but true. Fortunately I am not a small bloke, and seeing as I have been going to the same club every week for 10 months I know virtually everyone. So, I have escaped with any cuts at all.

How did I get here? Ah yeah, the age of people being allowed into clubs, well I am now going to have a moan at the bouncers. The bouncers think they are doing the younguns a favour by letting them in, but they are not at all, they are causing problems, and if the bouncers do let the kids in, it should be their responsibility to make sure that the kids are ok, they do not get in fights, or get unwanted attention, okay so it sounds a bit over the top, but that is what I think should be happening. Most clubs do not employ enough Bouncers anyway; there is only one club in Chester that has enough bouncers to deal with trouble and that is Brannigans, as much as I hate the place.

I really have no idea where I am going with this review, I think it was mainly just a ramble for myself, as I do enjoy just writing all this stuff out, and getting it off my chest.

That's the thing about townie clubs though. People go there straight after the pub so they're drunk already, and the whole thing is just hideous. Try going further afield and looking for a proper club where the people actually go for the tunes and to dance - lecherous blokes are much rarer.

Repeat after me. I'm a very naughty boy and should learn to share my "things" instead of fighting ;-)
