Far too small, but they get all the big Drum & Bass names (The Cavern (Exeter))

Advantages: big names, low price on door

Disadvantages: often overfilled dangerously

The Cavern in Exeter, is hidden behind the high street, and is near bus stops and is right next to Exeter Central BR Station, and a short bus ride from St Davids. In the daytime, it's a quiet little cafe bar, generally full of students, and they do a Phat hot chocolate, squirty cream etc, mmm...aaggh!

Back to the point, come 10pm, all change. The Cavern as a venue is impossibly small considering that all the big names, Rap, Grooverider, SS, Andy C, Nicky Blackmarket, and much more all play there regularly. The door people are as friendly as you may expect, and have a tendancy to overfill the place. On a busy night, It gets rediculous, too the extent that it takes about 20 minuters to barge your way from one end to the other. Sardines in a tin have more space to move! Not for the claustrophoebic!

Also, the advertised names sometimes do not turn up.
Door prices are generally under a fiver, but get there early if you want to be let in, as I said space is a problem, and if anything leave early, say by 11.30pm to avoid the crush- It gets dangerously full.

Drugs are quite well enforced, people have been kicked out (violently) for smoking a bit of puff, so careful if you're into that kind of thing!

On occasions, when it's not too full, it is possible to have a really wicked night out.
