Turnmills is a London night club, located in Farringdon on the corner of Clerkenwell Road. It's one of the most well known dance clubs in London and it attracts many different types of people.
Dress code, as with any dance club, is fairly casual. Men are able to get in wearing trainers, jeans and a t-shirt. Us women are able to wear anything, but my advice is the less the better, as it gets really hot on the dance floor. Entry will cost you between £8 and £15 and the doors are open between 10:30pm and 7am.
My favourite night at Turnmills was always the Gallery. You always get full on house (trance, hard, minimal, etc) in the main room. Some of the best dance DJ's including Tall Paul, Judge Jules, Sisters Bliss and Eddie Halliwell, Lisa Lashes, will play at the Gallery, providing you with a thumping base-line. Ear plugs are optional!!
Unfortunately I am not a fan of the layout in the main room. The dance floor is long and narrow, so you often end up being far away from the DJ and speakers, especially when the night is busy.
Instead I prefer the second room, where you often hear alternative house, such as electro, break beat or some other kinda of house. This room is much better in my opinion, especially for the start of the night.
Once the clock strikes 3am I tend to move into the main room, where I find that the crowd as died down a bit, with all the drinkers clearing out, so there is plenty of room for a dance.
There's a chill out area, with sofa's and arm chairs and the toilet facilities are well looked after. You hardly ever have to queue for these.
One down side is the proce of the drinks, which are fairly typical for a London club. I'd advise leaving the double vodka and red bulls and having a few vodka and soda's.
When you leave the club at the end of the night / start of the morning, the club have a taxi service available, so you don't have any worries about getting home.
All in all, one of the best nights in London, despite the poor structure of the main room dance floor.
I award the Gallery four out of five Dooyoo stars
Summary: Try Turnmills out. Take plenty of money
