Advantages: Cheap entry price, Easy girls
Disadvantages: Dire sound system, even worse DJ, seen more class in a brothel
I have no idea where the other reviewers have been before but I have to put a stop to any pro-garage nonsense circulating. First thing I noticed is that the DJ on the particular night was god-awful. I mean, I don't expect someone who can mix at a cheese-fest like the Garage but I expect him to be able to set sound levels! For the awful quality system the Garage has the volume was far too loud to hear any proper music... not that he would have played any anyway... For those who aren't into music, I can't even say that the average attendee is classy by any stretch of the imagination... if you're after an easy pull for the night then this might be the place you're looking for but anyone looking to find a partner with a clue may have better luck elsewhere. The staff appear to be heavily male based and even the female bar-staff seem to serve female club-goers first - something I've never experienced in other clubs where usually female bar staff serve males first and vice versa. As far as good points go it has a cheap entry price, there is no pressure to dance well (if you have the slightest rythm you'll shine on the 'dance' floor,) and drink prices are fairly reasonable for a nightery. If you're a fan of Red Bull be sure to be picky about which bar you get it from as one of the bars serve a horrible red liquid that seems to be an off-brand Red Bull... not very nice in my oppinion. If you look like the kind to have a good time, be prepared for a full touchy-feely search at the door - come on, as if taking E or any other drug could be that enjoyable when the dj doesn't even cater for decent musical taste never mind bothers about beat-matching. Call me a music snob or a social elitist, but if you have any class or taste then don't expect to go to the Garage for a good night, be it a last resort for anyone too steaming to get in any respectable club.

- 18/02/05 I go to The Garage regularly, and I don't appreciate your generalisation about the 'easy girls'. I've certainly never noticed girls being any more 'easy' in The Garage than in other clubs. Besides, you don't have to look ;-p

- 15/01/04 Hmm, I would have liked some more detail on the types of music played, different nights, entry prices, what drinks are available and what prices they were, any cloakrooms, were the toilets horrible, what type of person it attracts, is it a friendly kind of club, not just a rant about how much you hated it! |
