Advantages: A funky cinema, free playstations, friendly crowd.
Disadvantages: Can be a bit druggy, some people can't stay up that late!, no alcohol on sale.
The Hush is a small, private club for members and their guests only. It is on Station Street in Birmingham city centre, behind New Street Station.
Most people go to the Hush after going to another club; and use it as a chill out/after club dance venue.
Every time I have been to this club I have had a great time. It is members only, and there can be a queue, but it is worth it! It is small (3 rooms, one of which is a cinema!)which gives a nice atmosphere. It has a capacity of 950 but never sees crowded due to the spacious layout. It is well ventilated and cool, which makes a change from most hot and sweaty night clubs! The music is excellent, not charty commercial dance, but proper club tunes that real clubbers know and love, not teeny boppers who listen to Dave Pearce on radio 1! If you want to hear Sash!, take my advice and go to DNA.
A few times when I have been there they have had live percussion which is great to watch and really adds to the music! So there is one room for dancing, another room has playstations(which are free), pool tables and squashy sofas. It is great to hang about in and chill, especially as most people have been somewhere first(it opens late, about 12-2, until 6 or 7 in the morning). It doesn't serve alcohol, but has a snack bar and serves water and soft drinks.
The cinema is a great thing to have in a club. It is small, maybe 30 seats, and if you are lucky they actually put proper films on(at other times I have been subjected to porn, and channel 5!) But it's all good fun when you are a little intoxicated.
The Hush makes a welcome change to clubbing Birmingham, which has increasingly become expensive, crowded and unfriendly. The Hush is very friendly (although the bouncers can be intimidating when they look you up and down!)as are the regulars. The people that go there are generally trendy club types who wear trainers rather than overly smart clothes. The ages range from around 16 (that&
#39;s going by appearances and people I know) up to about 30.

Make yourself look glamourous and try to get past the bouncers and you will have a top night, I promise! OAPs exempt-but then there's always the comfy sofas for those who can't keep up!
