      • "Generally full of W**NKERS!!"

The Limelight is by far the worst club in Belfast. I say this as a once loyal regular who wouldn't miss a single Helter Skelter on a Saturday. The bouncers are the most ignorant people I have ever came across, the wouldn't admit one of my friends in because he had a Citizens Card which is a form of ID issued by the Government! When my friend explained to him that it was a registered form of ID the bouncer replied with a smarmy grin "Not tonight it isn't". They totally abuse their authority. On a number of occasions it gets quite warm since there is no windows and a lot of people in a small space, so obviously when you're out drinking you become dehydrated BUT according to the bouncers if you step one foot outside the door for some fresh air you can't get back in! Why are you given tickets then!!! And if you stand inside the door to get some air you are told "Make up your f**king mind whether you're going in or out". Not a nice place to go if you want a good night out. Also recently the number of spides and steeks has been increasing, you get millies plastered in make up with a Reebok top and baggies, how long will it be before the floor is dancing to DJ Sammy, my guess is pretty soon. This was once the most alternative club in Belfast with a warm and ecletic crowd. Now it might as well be Dempseys with rock music. FOR SHAME!!!

Being a regular at The Limelight for over a year has had its advantages: friendly bouncers who are only too willing to hold your drink while you visit the toilet and allow you to skip the queue when going in, and an experience that makes you realise why this club has it all. Perhaps it does not have the most swish and luxurious look, but this does not stop it from being the place to go if you want a mad and cheap night out! Tuesdays at the Limelight, known as 'Shag' have such brilliant drinks promotions including vodka and pepsi for £2 and bottles of tenants for only a quid! As for the music..... for those people who are sick of cheese and doosh doosh dance at those niteclubs which charge £10 to get in, The Limelight offers a wide range of music ranging from the rockiest of rock, Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters and Smashing Pumpkins to name a few, to the occasionally cheesy Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera song at the end of the night when a boggie is definitely in order after a wild night of head-banging in the mosh pit! The best thing is that the entrance fee is only £2 and the music goes on until 2am. Sound like too scary a place for you?? Think again. Even the most prim and proper, gay and cheesy friends I know have sampled the Limelight and vowed never to miss a Tuesday night again! So give it a go but remember your ID because they do tend to be strict, which ensures that there are no spider babies lurking around. This club rocks and its rocky. As for the talent..........waow is all that has to be said!
