If you love clubbing you will love the opera house! The venue itself is one of the largest in Bournemouth (perhaps only coming second in terms of size to the club elements). Popular with both locals and visitors to the town the opera house caters for all tastes. Slinky every Friday night is intended for hardcore clubbers and is popular nationwide. ‘Hot and Horney’ the student night held every Thursday and ‘Curious’ every Saturday are very similar in terms of the music they play (mainly trance in main room and chart and cheese upstairs). Being more of an alternative type clubbing isn't usually my scene, but I think I've been converted! I was convinced to go on the Opera House's last Gay night a few Sundays ago. It was astounding. The music was great, (I'm assuming house - my knowledge of dance genres is almost nill) it started out a bit lighter and got heavier towards the end of the night (morning). The atmosphere in there was banging, not an ounce of bad feeling, drunken brawls or arguments (not that I saw anyway). The drinks are pricey though, although maybe thats normal for a club of it's type - £3.25 for a bottle, and the cost to get in was ... Read the complete review

Right listen up, I may be an untrained clubber but i know my music and hard house, trance is it. So when i went to Bournemouth with three other mates for a lond weekend it was hoping for a building which could provide this type of music combined with up for it clubbers and decent environment. Basically I thought that The zoo and the cage (which i think has been changed to "Elements" - next to a bar called slam) on a Sturday is amasing. Although not the biggest of clubs the dance floor accommodated me and my moves quite adaquately. The tunes were banging from start to finish and i stopped twice for and drink and chat and rest break. ... Read the complete review

This club is an absolute must if you are in Bournemouth for a weekend. I used to go to Bournemouth Uni and used to frequent this club regularly on a Thursday night. Mainly because it was full of Students who were up for a good laugh, amongst other things. Their biggest night is Friday night "Slinky" which regularly has top guest DJ's and the atmosphere is pretty buzzing. Definitely recommend this to anyone who's thinking of going down to Bournemouth for some late night action ... Read the complete review
